It happened the first time I saw it happen to me. I was stunned so I don’t know why I didn’t laugh when a psychic student called to inquire about ‘seeing humans turn into animals’.
I asked, “Were you seeing their Spirit, Totem, or Power Animal?” “Uhhhh…”, she stammered. LOL
Now, I’m a very grounded, show me-the-evidence psychic mediumship development teacher. However, is a skeptical . As a Shamanic medium and professional psychic medium, I want to help students keep in their integrity . How to discern between their imaginations and genuine psychic medium messages .
A practice psychic reading is when a student says to a “client”, “You’ve got big hearts and love to help people.” They get the gongs, buzzers, and stink-eye. They’re asked to dig deeper, listen more closely to spirit so they receive specific psychic messages like, “You’ve got metal in your leg” or “You aren’t sure which job to take” or “You want to hear from your husband and he’s telling me you’re doing a great job running the business you started together.”
So, when the student explained that she was standing in the line at the grocery stores and the person in front of turned into Crow (specifically: his head turned into Crow’s head), I was assigned to make sure she understood what she was seeing. It turned out she did! She did! It was also my job for her to find out the reasons she had these visions.

Why Psychic Mediums Help People Turn Into Animals
LOL, maybe it’s just because I’m writing this at 5: 30AM, but that title really tickles me. And yet, for those earnestly working on developing their psychic powers it’s a deeply meaningful question that must be answered.
Some psychic mediums who are just starting out have visions from the beginning. However, this can cause people to believe that they are having a psychotic break. It can be both scary and astonishing. One of the most common visions psychic mediums could see is people transmuting into or becoming animals. !
I answer all students’ questions “I don’t know for certain but some possible answers why a psychic medium might witness a client transform into an animal are”
1. It may be their spirit animal

When we can open up to our most authentic and true psychic medium abilities, we become more conscious of our connection with all that is. Logically, this will require a deeper conscious connection with the animal realm – i.e. Spirit, Totems, and Power Animals. The Universe may send signs and omens through psychic mediums, just as you can receive messages from spirit (mediumship), or to communicate with your clients.
Although ‘Spirit Animal, ‘Totem Animal, and ‘Power Animal’ can be interchangeable terms, we break them down into categories for your learning.
- Spirit Animal The animal allies who appear to you whenever you need them. They are your support and love.
- Totem Animal – Who you are inside. It’s the animal that you offer the world as’medicine.
- Power Animal– Your inner animal energy. You can summon your own Lion energy if you need courage. Your Praying Mantis can be invoked to help you with patience. You can combine your Snake energy with your Praying Mantis energy to enhance your psychic abilities.

If someone appears to be able to shapeshift into an Elephant or Dog without any prior knowledge , this might indicate that they are concerned about their family . Perhaps they have been praying to the other side and they can see their animal ally/allies .
Perhaps you see an animal shapeshift occur during a psychic medium reading. The animal could have been a pet who has passed on. It could be a relative or friend who sends you a message regarding the client’s username. Once, a client of mine enquired if her husband would send the one message she desired. I told her, “He’s showing you a very tall bird.” She began crying. She is almost 6ft tall, and her nickname was “Bird”.
Bottom line, Spirit Animals can show up for any and all reasons. Simply be open-minded to all possible interpretations.
2. It might be their Totem Animal
As stated above, a Totem Animal refers to who a person is. This assignment of purpose serves only to distinguish between Spirit Animals, Totem Animals, and Power Animals.
If someone is transmuted into their Totem Animal , it could be a sign or an omen that it’s their time to ascend to the seat in their power. Maybe they’ve always wanted to be a medical professional but are afraid they’re not smart enough. If you keep seeing Frogs or Snakes around them it might be the animal allies’ way of saying, “Go for it! We’ve got your back!”
Another example would be watching someone change into a Bee. Maybe their calling is to work in environmental issues, such as activism, research, and politics.
To be clear, Totem Animals can show ALL sides of an animal’s nature. If you look at someone and see a vicious Wolf, scary Shark, or terrified Rabbit – tread lightly into those psychic waters. Wolves can be brutal hunters but they also have the playful temperament of a Golden Retriever. Is it time for them to get some help for their anger issues? Sharks can be very frightening. Do they have a dangerous nature? On the flip side, there’s so much we don’t know about Sharks, maybe the person you see needs to work on removing the mask and showing the world who they truly are. Rabbits can be fierce fighters, but they are still Rabbits. These delicate creatures are unable to adequately defend themselves so if a Rabbit is afraid, it’s time for compassionate conversation and gentle compassion.
3. It might be their Power Animal

It can be difficult and confusing to see a person’s Totem Animal, but it is possible to see their Power Animal. While seeing someone’s Totem Animal can reveal who they are, watching them transform into their Power Animal could be a sign of who they want or need to be in this stage of their lives.
Huh?
Let’s imagine that a Tiger is seen coming out from someone’s Solar Plexus. Maybe that person wants to start a business or get a better job but doesn’t have the strength to ‘go on the hunt’ for opportunities. Tiger energy or medicine might be what they need from within. By unleashing ‘the Tiger inside’ the job hunt or search for the right business to start may get started and go great! Also, the ‘Tiger” emerging from the Solar Plexus Chakra may be a sign their creativity, or their solar power is at an all-time high. You need to be aware of which part of the body the animal spirit guide transforms into.
4. It is possible that a Chakra needs to be cleansed, balanced, and/or healed.
Similar to the Tiger appearing out of someone’s Solar Plexus Chakra , it is possible to see a Snake moving out of someone’s Root Chakra . These could be reasons:
- It is a sign that Kundalini awakening has occurred.
- The Root Chakra (sex, physical intimacy, fertility) needs cleansing, balancing, and/or healing.
- Snakes represent Shamanism, healers/healing, and other related concepts. This person might be interested in becoming a healer/medical practitioner and may have concerns about passing a test, getting into college, or dealing with a legal matter.
As an evidential psychic medium, I often see Butterflies fly out of folks’ Heart Chakra. This is usually a sign that they are trying to hear from a loved-one on the other side.
It can really help understand the symbolic meanings of your psychic visions if you’re well-versed on Chakra Symbols Meanings . If you are familiar with the symbolism and function each Chakra, it will be easier to pinpoint why an animal spirit guides is present in that area.
5. You might be ready to integrate spirit, power, and totem animals into your psychic medium readings
It amazes and awes me, every now and again, when students witness the presence of animal spirit guides. Over the years, student feedback has been that they had always believed animal allies are only for those following a Shamanic healing/Shamanic practitioner path or animal communication or pet psychic path. They have categorized these psychic abilities and powers in a different way.
It makes sense that is the path one chooses to identify with (Shaman psychic, animal communicator/pet psychic, intuitive or energy healer, for example). will be the ‘abilities’ which ‘strengthen’ first, it’s really tomato, tomatoh. ]
No matter what label you adopt, the bottom line is all these types of paths and resulting readings or healings which stem from them are psychic events. The spirit world may knock on your Third Eye, if you’re ready to expand your psychic toolkit. You might also know that higher self knows you will need to use and understand these channeled messages later on. A black and yellow Bumble Bee, with gossamer wings, kept showing up in my psychic visions during a Remote-Viewing class I took at The Monroe Institute. My Remote Viewing target actually turned out to be an old movie theater. Look at the target image that was revealed after the exercise. Are you able to see the Bumblebee in yellow and black with its gossamer wings and legs?
When I spoke about how Spirit Animals were helping to me’see’ Remote Viewing targets, I received a look from the rest of my classmates. Yeah. They were ridiculed but it didn’t last long because my dear animal allies constantly helped me identify targets. Everyone was eager to learn more about Spirit and Totem animals, as well as Power Animals. This convinced me that one of the reasons the animal spirit guides kept pressuring me to talk to them was so that I could be a conduit for 15 other seekers to open their minds to greater potentials of their psychic abilities!
I believe we work in tandem with and are forever connected to all that is. Even when your conscious mind seems all like “OMG! Relax. Be open to trust. Expect your higher self to protect you and guide you safely through all spiritual and psychic awakenings.
The world needs more evidenceial psychic mediums. Shamans and Lightworkers. Honour the animal spirit guides when they appear to assist. Doing so honors your own journey. You’ll likely notice your psychic abilities, powers and messages becoming more precise.
